How to Find Effective Solutions to Problems

When you are faced with a problem, how do you go about solving it? Do you allow the problem to overwhelm you or do you try to figure out a solution?

Even though you try to live a stress free and happy life unanticipated things can happen – making it difficult to keep your joy.

As humans we all will encounter various problems in our lives which may result from how we think, feel, the methods we use to deal with life problems or it could come from unexpected events. Although it may seem easier to avoid these problems; it’s best to face them and find effective solutions.

Some may ask the question: Is there a tool or strategy that can assist me in finding effective solutions? Well, here are a few steps that one may use:

1. Rely on Almighty God

The Creator invites us to “Throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7. We are able to go to God in prayer and pour out our hearts and tell him what’s going on. His word the bible has been around for a long time and it has proven to be just as beneficial today as it was back in the day.

Therefore, at 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, it says,” All Scriptures is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work”.

2. Get Support

Seek the support of a mature friend; Talk to them and let them help you by giving good advice and really listening; be specific and honest about your needs. Sometimes a different perspective may help you to see things differently or understand.

3. Discuss the issues.

Set an appropriate time to discuss the problem. Be honest; let the person know how you feel and about the issue. In addition, resist the urge to fight and remain calm, gracious and never forget to show respect.

4. Listen and Understand.

Remember to display respect and affection for one another. Do not pretend to listen; give the person your full attention. Remember that people might have different views or perspective than yours; likewise, keep an open mind.

5. Follow Through

It’s a good thing when people can agree on a good solution; but in order for it to be effective- individuals must act on it. Individuals need to follow through on what is decided. Likewise, decide and list the practical steps together and evaluate the progress. This is the time to be creative.

In closing, working together will bring happiness and build a strong foundation of respect and trust. Always focus on the positive and do not think about the past once a solution is found; when you do this, you can solve any problem effectively and successfully that you encounter.
